A brilliant place to fly, very friendly and welcoming. Historic airfield too.
Lovely to be a part of the airfield club. Friendly group always made welcome and help each other.
Great place to learn to fly and excellent customer care.
Hunsdon Aerodrome formerly a WWII Bomber airfield, still retains a dramatic pillbox just outside the clay pidgeon shooting fort. Behind the fort to the far left is the aerodrome offices and memorial. On non-shooting days there is an incredible peace over there. Quite calming. The road up is a challenge to your driving skills but the planes are smaller and cheaper to fly. A true aerodrome nugget. From a WWII historical point, this is the Aerodrome that the squadron of Mosquitos took off from on that daring precision bombing mission to Amiens prison to aid the escape of the French Resistance fighters held captive; breachìng the outer wall of the prison and bombing the SS mess to prevent the freed french from coming under fire from their German captors.. Local awesome history on our doorstep.
