Beautiful working pottery where you can also do courses for beginners or more experienced. Everyone has their own wheel so you go at your own pace. Dave is a great teacher, very knowledgeable, down to earth and makes it a lot of fun. I’ve just done a 3 day course and I can’t wait to go back and do it all again! You can also just pop in and buy a pot if you’re passing.

Lovely pottery. Beautiful designs. We have some woodfired mugs, expresso cups and bowls and we particularly like the subtle variation in texture and finish around a general theme. Each piece is unique, tactile and ergonomic.

Having treated ourselves for a day out, my friend and I went down to do a beginners day course. What a great day it was. Everyone was so friendly. Dave who was having to put up with us for the day, could not have been more warm and welcoming. His energy and patience was unending with everyone, constantly helping, explaining and encouraging. Concentration levels, were quite high but they had organised well timed coffee and lunch breaks with homely food and drinks, a complete treat. Dave’s instruction’s were always well paced and clear with his aim to get everyone to achieve their masterful creation’s whilst having fun. I achieved much more than I thought was possible, pots, bowls, and plates and what I loved even more, was that they are made from stoneware which is totally versatile and can even be put in the dishwasher, so they aren’t just ornamental. Due to the nature of pottery, we weren’t able to glaze and fire so the studio will do that for us and will be ready for collection in a few weeks and although they will deliver them, I will be using it as an excuse to revisit them. I did find myself filing down my nails during the lunch break to make things easier, so maybe gels might not be your friend! I came back home completely pumped and will definitely be looking to do the three day course. Thank you Dave and Lucy.

Stayed at the Vinegar Hill Pottery B&B when attending their 3 day pottery course at the weekend. The course was fantastic. As an absolute beginning I couldn't believe how much I learnt. The Raku firing was amazing and I came home with some stunning pots with more on their way after firing. Others on my course were a mix of abilities but all stressed how good the course was. The B&B was charming and the family atmosphere was great. Looking to go again in the future.
