The San Diego Fine Woodworkers Member Shop is an excellent resource for anyone in the San Diego area who is interested in woodworking. The shop has all sorts of tools from the traditional hand tools like saws and chisels to all of the modern power equipment such as table saws, band saws, lathes and much more. They even have computer-controlled tools like a CNC Milling Machine and Laser cutter. They offer professional classes and lots of free an uncritical advice. It is a great place to learn something new, improve your existing skills and meet some really nice people who share your love of woodworking.

The membershop at SDFWA is a wonderful resource. I had been out of woodworking for many years and when I found out in 2016 that SDFWA was opening a shop for members where we could use all the tools, work on our projects, meet and interact with other woodworkers, take classes and volunteer to help the shop and the woodworking community, I signed up even before the place was open. It has been a great experience and I have met many great people and I have even picked up some new skills (like working with a CNC, Laser and a 3D-Printer).

I recommend their SketchUp class. It helped me immensely draw out my family room cherry paneling and mantel project. I don’t use their member shop because my woodworking is interior trim work, but it looked very well stocked with great equipment that I don’t ever use.

Hand and power tools in abundance plus lasers, CNC mills, 3D printers and more where \more\ means classes, special interest groups, community events, and a great value. You won't find a better-run woodworking makerspace in SoCal ... or pretty much anywhere else.

I showed on day one and felt like I was a welcomed member of the SDFWA family. They took me under their wing and helped me develop my skillsets. The classes that they offered further developed my ability. This is truly an association worth investing time into as you will develop friendships and skills you would never have dreamed of. Thank you SDFWA!!!
