Saffron Restaurant Pashan has added an exclusive Thali menu to their already existing popular food menu.. The thali's include a variety of fish thaali ,Mutton thaali and chicken thali.And boy what a foodgasmic treat that was !! You have the liberty to customise your platter.. It can be a fish fry or can be a spiced up tawa fish along with crisp bombil fry ,sukkat , fish curry that will either have Bhetki fillet or rawas as per availability, choice of roti ,you can opt for chapati ,Amboli or bhakri served fresh and hot..along with a chutney. 1)Pomfret fish thaali..a first for me because crisp rawa fried pomfret ..fresh and mild on spice is served along with the curry and roti of your choice. This is a kid friendly Thali because of its spice level. #Amustorder 2) Prawns thali ,Surmai thali and Crab thali.. All the dishes delicious and cooked with fresh catch of the day. The fish pieces can be easily shared by 2 persons. 3) Another item ..a starter from the menu that is worth mentioning is the sukkat masala papad. This was the perfect start to the meal. Generous amount of spiced up sukkat chutney on fried papad was so addictive that you won't be able to stop at one. #lovedtillthelastbite All the dishes are balanced ..neither too spicy nor too bland just right to enjoy your favourite sumptuous fish thali. Saffron ..a very spacious restaurant with both outdoor and two levels of indoor seating with sufficient space for social distancing. Sanitizers are kept handy and the servers are all masked up. Due to its spacious interior and strategic location on the highway it's a crowd puller and a perfect place for family get-togethers and parties. A reasonably large seating area at various levels which permits one to have quiet parties, family get together or corporate dinners. Even a quiet date night. They had a dance floor with live music post COVID 19 which is closed currently. They also do catering for house parties etc. The owner Chetan Zope recently added various options in #Thali for lunch. This Thali is available from 1pm until 5pm Different Types of Fish Thali Chicken Thali Mutton Thali All preparation are costal predominantly Konkani/ Malvani in nature. We were served #Sukkat_Papad as starter while we waited for the Thali’s to arrive. This presentation was fantastic so crunchy and spice balanced. #highlyrecommended Every Fish Thali has sukkat chutney, moist chutney (red chilli, Kanda, coconut & amsul) found in this cuisine , option or rawa/tawa fry of fish of your choice, one large bombil rawa fry, Malvani fish curry, rice with option of Bhakri/Chappati/Amboli, onion and off course the refreshing sol kadhi. Everything on the plate was delicious and delivered from what I as expecting . The Malvani curry was tangy, the red chutney was spot on and the fish was extremely fresh. Sol Kadhi was refreshing. Kindly note the #Rawa_fry is ideal for kids or those who prefer minimal spice. #Tawa_fry is a nice spicy, tangy Masala version which has you licking your fingers! The #Mutton_Thali had Kheema fried balls, Malvani mutton curry, mutton masala, sol kadhi, onion, rice and option of chappati/Bhakri. The mutton masala was just too good! Spicy and well balanced. The kheema fry balls were a bit too salty for me . All the ingredients & fish were very fresh and Saffron has come up with this amazing pocket friendly heavy duty Thali concept! Would definitely recommend you to visit to try it.
If you are true seafood lover and want to try malvani style seafood preparation in the town then you should try out Saffron Seafood Restaurant and their exclusive seafood thalis in existing popular seafood menu. Thali includes variety of fish preparation (desi tawa grilled, rava fry, barbeque) and you have liberty to customize your thali based on your need. Every seafood thali includes sukkat, bombil rawa fry, rice, solkadhi, and choice of bread(tawa chapati, rice bread, amboli) I would really recommend to try out their innovative starter sukkat papad.their fish curry is thick in texture and have perfect tangy and spicy flavour. Pomfret rava fry is unique, cut in to pieces and coated properly and become crispy after fry and tender inside. Bombil rawa fry is one my favourite dish from their menu. Desi grillled prawns are so good very tender inside and spicy outside. They use fresh catch.

The thali includes bombil fry, fish curry, plain curry, solkadhi, sukat chutney, green chutney, choice of fish fry, choice of bhakri/chapati/ amboli & rice. We went for a surmai thali & prawns thali.. The fish was fresh & clean.. The bombil & prawns was light marinated deep rawa fried, whereas the surmai was masala coated and tawa fried..the surmai fry was more on a spice side. The curry is malvani style not too thick with prominent taste of spices.. Special mention to the amboli which goes very well with the fish curry.. the amboli is made fresh and not too sour.. Every item in the thali was up to the mark.. The quantity of thali is properly sufficient to 1 person without wasting anything & well planned menu. They also serve chicken & mutton thali & have à la carte menu as well.. Note: They serve thalis only for lunch from 12:00 to 5:00 Follow #hungerstops for more food updates..
Good ambience, suitable for families. Good food, although I've not tried the sea food. Polite and courteous staff, very cooperative. Will definitely visit again.
A restaurant found fitted in limited space, hence nothing much can be commented on ambiance. Food was more inclined towards spicy .. overshadowing aroma and sea food taste. Ya, certainly enjoyed a pocket friendly chilled beer.
Lovely place with super delicious sea food. The chicken and veg dishes are also absolutely perfect.. Dinning here never disappoints.. Only 1 issue is they do not accept zomato pay or dine out, hence miss out on discounts.
The food and service were good. Crab masala was the best preparation. The quality of linen and cleanliness should improve. Either you have good quality unstained linen on table or don't put it at all
