Shame they don't say when they have a private events! As you won't be allowed in or do any events they advertise!! A great a place to visit for all ages. This place boosts a museum, cafe/restaurant, bar, park, play area and a few open spaces/fields. Plenty of sitting outside and will definitely be visiting again when the sun's out and being able to relax/chill with a cold beer

At the moment it's a building site ..but looks like its going to be amazing when finished
This lovely place is so peaceful and the people that work there are so helpful and friendly ... the cafe is interesting and differant.
Quite a local establishment to myself, offering lots of history about the building itself. There are two beautiful rooms to dine in, or have a beverage, alcoholic and non alcoholic. There is a museum, incorporated into the building, both downstairs and upstairs. There is also a room, designated to art collections A lovely place to relax and unwind, without feeling rushed. Highly recommended
We live nearby and it always a great place to bring our son. The museum offers him hours of intrigue and the food and drinks are divine! The staff are amazing and always have a smile on their face. We hired the Whitaker for a christening and they couldn't have been more helpful! I would give it ten stars!
I stopped here by chance one day when driving through the area. There's an odd mix of a small gallery space, a small museum with a room recreated in late Victorian style as it would have been when it was a working house and also a nice cafe. It was a pleasant place to stop for an hour or two and the drinks were nice and reasonably priced. It's always a pleasure to discover little local gems like this. One bonus is that parking is right outside and it's free to park.
Interesting look at local history, small but packed with artefacts. Also contains an art gallery with pieces from local artists. Great restaurant in the museum too, a little on the expensive side but excellent food.
Really interesting place, stumbled upon it as they were showing a film I had always wanted to see. They actually do a film club too where they show a different film or have a mini film festival. I didn't eat here so can't comment on that. Drinks were good though, staff friendly and informative. I especially enjoyed wandering around the museum.
