Dr. Wang delivered my 2nd baby boy at the height of the pandemic and I had an amazing experience. Smooth delivery and recovery thanks to her.

She was the first OBGYN I went too and quickly had to change doctors because she would not explain anything she was doing for example I had no idea what to expect when it came to my first Pap smear and she did it without any warning and when I said it hurt she said I was overreacting.
I had an appointment for an office procedure with Dr. Wang which was postponed because of the covid-19 shutdown in March. We were able to schedule for August. I took a day off from work for a 9AM appt. While driving, I encountered a detour but with no direction where to go. I back tracked and rerouted my drive.At 9AM I called the office to explain that I was going to be late. The person who answered the phone said no problem be safe, do you need help with directions? I said no thank I back tracked and should be there according to my navigation in 6 minutes. I parked, took the elevator to the office walked in at 9:09AM. The greeter at the desk asked if I could come back at 12pm because I was late and the Dr would backed up all morning if she did my procedure now. I asked why didn't they tell me that when I called to say that I was going to be 6 minutes late. I explained that I took off from work and scheduled other appts but I would see if I could juggle my schedule. I checked and told her that I could come back at 12PM. Nervous to be late again, I arrived at 11:50AM. A patient was sitting in the waiting room. At 12 she was called into the exam area. Another woman checked in. At 12:25PM I asked when will I go in and I was told another 20 to 30 minutes. No apologies or anything. I said to the young lady, I was 10 minutes late this morning and had to be rescheduled so the dr. 's morning schedule wouldn't get backed up. I complied but was expected to sit and wait for 50 minutes??? I asked for a medical record release, filled it out and walked out. No mutual respect! A phone call at 11:30AM to tell me she was backed up anyway and for me to come in at 12:45PM might have lessened my annoyance. Poor patient respect!
Dr Wong was the on call Dr at both of my births. The first birth was fine and I when she showed up on call for the second birth I felt confident that I was in good hands. The second birth there was no midwife on call. Dr Wong left the Foley catheter in as I pushed out a 9.12lb baby, which I pushed out, catheter balloon and all. In between pushes she kept repeating how ‘it was going to take months to recover, months and months’. While delivering my son I was being told that I was going to be peeing in my pants for the next 6 months because I pushed a Foley catheter (with balloon) out. All I could think about was how I was supposed to recover from this. Not only did she ruin my entire birth experience but other Dr’s have been shocked and horrified that the Foley catheter was left in while pushing a baby out, for this exact reason, the risk of pushing it out and causing damage. I’m leaving this review because I feel angry and upset about this experience, and because I am now living through the healing of what happened, she was right, I can’t control my bladder. In all the birth preparation papers this was never discussed with me so I had no way to even know this could happen. We should know these things so we can decide what is best for us.
Love Dr Wang! She has always been extremely patient and kind. Always listens to my concerns and answers my questions. Very knowledgeable. Kept me at ease during both my pregnancies. She delivered both of my babies and always checked in on me postpartum. She is the absolute best!
