Updated: I take my temp EVERY time before I drive to my appt. It was 97.9. I was cleared at the door with my temperature. At screening, I was told I had a 100.6 temp. Floored. I have to drive back to have my temp taken AND then a 2wk deferral starts. When I went back to my car, 2 mins later, my temp AGAIN was 97.9. I drove 15mins to Ked Plasma, my temp was 97.7 and I donated. FIVE temp checks had me clear including another facility. Ridiculous - heaven forbid their thermometer might be wrong. Waste of my time. Ked missed me and I guess I will stick to where my donations/time are valued. So we didn't get off to the best start - no one would simply answer what rates were over the phone... and then I was told I wasn't eligible. But a convo with corporate cleared that up. Pays far more than other centers. Making an appt seems good but wait times are still unacceptable at times. Blame staff scheduling - but shouldn't they then limit people who don't have appts instead of making ppl who stick to their appt times wait more? Staff is nice enough. Chairs are scary - the arm fell off where I was donating - staff shrugged it off - says they know. YOU DON'T NEED THE ARMREST FALLING OFF WHEN YOU HAVE A NEEDLE IN YOUR ARM! I have donated at worse places (and walked out). I am fortunate that there are 4 different centers within my vicinity - so giving them a bit longer to straighten things out.

Need more trained phlebotomist that are more experienced and can deal.with all types of vein stick issues.
They are liers. They promise u a bonus and then not fully pay u. 30. Id all they paid me my 5th time. Lie. Dont gonthere other places will pay u 100 and they only give u 30. They Lie. I donanted my 5th time today. An employee handed me a flyer that said BONUS 30 for 5th donation.. . So today I got paid 30 ONLY for donation. If you look up the word BONUS it means an amount added to. So instead of 75 plus 30.. O only received 30.. Can not believe I went and they took my blood they charhe other 2 thousand for my blood and pay me 30. I asked twice are u sure 30.. The lady said yes bouns 30 ONLY.. No 75 plus 30
I have been donating plasma 13 years, and in the 2-3 months I have been coming to this center I have had more bruising, resticks, and hematomas, than I have had in my entirety of donating. I’m not sure if it’s negligence or poorly trained and not as experienced phlebotomists, but something isn’t adding up. I’ve been to Biolife, CSL, and Biomat(where I began donating), and this center hands down I’ve had the most negative experiences. There’s only about 2-3 workers I can trust with a problem-free stick. Hopefully the staff will continue to be trained or more experienced phlebotomists will be hired in the near future.
Figured I would try to make a few extra dollars and I was screwed by the managers here. After donating all month the last day of the month I was not allowed to donate because of a scheduling conflict that was not explained properly. I asked the manager if he would retrain his staff and he called security on me. Bad business. That additional 135 would have been great.
