This is a lovely park with more than eight miles of trails through varied terrain and wide views across Pohick Bay. Trails in the lowlands along the bay were muddy in many places but passable; upland trails along the ridges were in good shape. Highly recommend taking a map of the park trails, which frequently crisscross or run jointly, making it tricky at times to determine location. Even on a cool, overcast day (Dec. 21 on our visit), the park was well worth exploring. Wide access to the bay, nice campgrounds and some handsome cabins must make it a very popular place in the summer.

Lovely to visit, hike, do water activities and kids can be kids on the playground. I wasn't sure if they had grills but we had tons of fun and went on kayak it was fun. The girls saw horses that was sweet!

One of the most rewarding parks in our Nation's Capitol (DMV). This park boasts a marina, miniature golf, RV & camp grounds, various trails and more! It is a lovely place for family outing or a quiet in the park stroll. Should you desire you can bring your blanket and picnic basket for a nice relaxing meal. The amenities are very accommodating, with a well maintained restroom station, parking is plentiful and separated for launching boats and watercraft and those cars just visiting the park. The miniature golf course has its own parking lot. It is nestled neatly in Lorton, but the drive is well worth it....when I visited the even had a pumpkin patch display up with hay, pumpkins, and a pumpkin scarecrow! I will certainly revisit and hope you will too!

Has a few nice short hiking trails but the north part of the red loop was pretty muddy so I’m plan accordingly.
