Not the best for beginners, but great if you love technical terrain. lots of roots and rock gardens. this is one of my favorite places to ride. everywhere you go its beautiful. the maps are laid out clearly and there are plenty of trails to choose from.

Awesome wild place! Very little litter compared to many popular wilderness places. Lots of mushrooms right next to the trails. Two forms of insect repellent (one with lemon eucalyptus makes you taste bad, the other with DEET blocks the insects' ability to smell you) and that wasn't enough. But that is part of nature. There are frequent trail signs. It would be helpful if more of them had arrows at junctions for those who don't know if they are aligned parallel to trails like road signs are to roads or if they are aligned like entrance signs with the wording facing out where a trail starts. The diagonally placed ones are the worst. We didn't get lost, we know how to navigate in the woods, but I can see how others can get confused. For newcomers to hiking: trees and limbs across what looks like a trail means \don't go this way\. Bring your phone to keep your group able to find each other. Assume you might be there longer than expected and bring water and other supplies so you don't panic and call for rescue. When you're prepared you can relax and enjoy pure nature.
