Phil has been great with us and our fire. We had an accident with the fire and it smashed in the house and Phil sorted it out quickly for us. We are really happy with the price of the fire and fitters did a great job. Highly recommended.

.In October 2017 I ordered a wood burning stove from The Fireplace Centre. The knocking out of the old fireplace went well as did the ordering of the stove and the slate hearth. However, Phil Shaw’s fitters from Wythall failed to get the stove pipe vertical. They were called back and did some work saying, “that is the best we can do”. They were called back a third time and this time got it straight. However, in the original fitting, they failed to fix the hearth to the slate as the instructions required, with the result that, within a year, the fire had twisted through 10. I informed Phil in November 2108, December and again in January 2019. He then arranged an appointment for them to come and fix it. They didn’t turn up. No explanation or apology from Phil. Another appointment was arranged. They didn’t turn up. No explanation, no apology. This pattern repeated itself four more times after which I wrote to Phil in May 2019 saying that I had been advised to draw a line under my dealings with him and find somebody else to fix the stove to the hearth and send him the bill. This I did and received a cheque from the company.

I got no information upon my visit, just an appointment made to meet at my property and thats fine. No one came on the meeting, so after 30min of waiting I had to call only to hear that they will not be able to make it and that next one can be in a week time. After a week again no one came and no one called so better stay away from this terrible business...
