The quality of the area varies with the water level, which can be drastically different. Aultman's Run is located in the flood zone behind the Conemaugh Dam and the water level can rise 20-30 feet which puts the entire area underwater and is reminiscent of the Swamps of Sadness. When it's not underwater, and has had time to dry, it's a very beautiful place. Great for fishing and kayaking.

Loved this access! Water was low, so there's a lot of mud. Better on a cooler, cloudier day b/c not much shade. Husband caught largest bass along the shoreline. Some work to get in and out, but beautiful!! Saw eagle, and other wildlife too...deer, squirrel, tons of birds! Slow float and very easy for a few hour paddle with fishing!! Great for a novice kayaker!!

This can be a very beautiful place. You have to time it right when you come here though. Seeing how it is a flood zone for (Conemaugh river) it can vary in depth. Watch the weather patterns and base your visit on that. We was here last week and it was super low and a muddy mess all around the water but soon as we get some rain we will go back and take more beautiful pictures. We still attempted fishing with our kiddos but it was difficult. The kayak worked just fine though (aside from the mud getting it in the water). Wish they had a dock. Nice place though when the weather is right.
Needs to be open all year round for hunting
