The welcome and atmosphere upon arrival were average. Allowing for moral and clientele being low due to covid we decided to stay. The starters of chowder were delicious and justified the decision to dine here. The main course of hot and cold sea food platter we really did not like. The cold elements did not seem at place on this dish. This was a personal feeling, others may really like it. I would like to have seen calamari and mussels in this dish or anywhere on the menu. The whole experience was ok. There is room to easily make it a more significant venue. Spruce up the decor, give the staff a bit of oomph to the welcome. Not sorry i came but not sure I'd return.

This would have easily been a four maybe 5 star review and the food tasted lovely. The reason it's not is because the Starter and Main course we're both cold. My wife doesn't like to to make a fuss so I didn't complain but I had to rush my meal. Pity as the food was nice.
For anyone travelling to Carlingford I would highly recommend The Carlingford Arms. You definitely won't be disappointed. Beautiful food, great atmosphere & lovely pleasant staff to go with it. Nothing was a bother. I would like to mention both Sharon the boss & Claire who was bar staff both of whom were lovely people & went out of their way to help us. Thank you both. We most definitely would go back to this restaurant again. It deserves the 5 stars I've given it. P.s There Irish coffee is a must.

Long wait for lunch from ordering to actually eating took over 30mins. Food was good. Don't go if you're in a rush.
Clean, food good and above all in these Covid times staff were wearing masks and shields.
