The Lippi’s are amazing. The time before I was taken by the Ghirlandaio frescoes. If you are off the train, do not go to this area alone! It is not safe - very aggressive panhandling all around the entrances and exits. There are several dozen of them. I was afraid I was going to be jumped by them going in and coming out of the church. They were shouting and blocking my path. They also followed me. I didn’t do anything to bring their ire out. They were not there on the previous visit to the city. The city is obviously looking the other way. Given how much money the city is making off tourism, it’s a shame. The enjoyment of the art is ruined. I don’t mind paying to see their church. I do mind their lack of concern for our safety. At this point, I’m not interested in going back to Florence. The whole experience was a letdown.

Notevole struttura religiosa, considerata basilica minore, ma per questo non di inferiore importanza. Edificata alla fine del 13 secolo in occasione della nascita in città del figlio di Gian Galeazzo Visconti. La basilica è preceduta da un quadriportico rinascimentale che rivela in facciata la grande arcata del pronao attribuito a Donato Bramante.

Bella Basilica, con impostazione barocca con navata centrale ampia, armoniosa, con un bel organo e dei colori che esaltano la struttura. Si accede da quadriportico a colonne con doppia entrata. È una sorpresa nascosta tra le vie di Abbiategrasso,
